VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- During a signing event Saturday at Graichen Gym, VCSU softball signed 7 players to join their program. One of the signees was Valley City High School’s Grace Scherr.

Last season Scherr was part of a Hi-Liner softball team that finished 17-3 while winning The EDC Tournament and finishing 5th at state. The outfielder was named to The All EDC Team. She batted .332 with a .377 OBP to go along with 61 runs scored and 13 extra base hits. Scherr also plays with The South Dakota Renegades who are coached by Vikings’ head coach Mike Mook, that was factor in her decision

Along with softball, Scherr plays volleyball and basketball for Valley City High School. She expects that to be a big help when it comes to balancing her time as a student athlete at VCSU

Last season VCSU softball finished 39-12 and lost to Dickinson in the bracket championship game of The NSAA Tournament.
