Vera Nagel, 81, died Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Valley City, ND.

Vera Olson was born September 19, 1937 in Hebron, ND. She grew up and attended school in Taylor, ND. She married Herbert Nagel on November 29, 1955 and they had four children. They lived in Hebron, ND for 2 years and then moved to Jamestown, ND.

After her marriage, she earned a Nursing Degree and worked as a nurse at the Jamestown State Hospital until retirement. After retirement, Herb and Vera moved to Arizona where they made their home. They spent their retirement together enjoying the Arizona sunshine and traveling the world together. In 2016, Vera moved to Valley City, ND to be closer to her family.

Vera was an avid reader who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, card games and going to the casino.

Vera is survived by her children, Monte Nagel, Brad Nagel, Stacy (Tom) Machart and son-in-law Dale Quenzer; ten grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher, April, Dillon, Brandi, Nicole, Tyler, Breanna, Kylie, Nicholas; thirteen great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; and her three sisters, Sarah, Ethel and Harriet.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Olson; husband, Herb Nagel; and daughter, Cindy Quenzer.

A memorial service for Vera will be held at the Lerud-Mathias Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM. An online guestbook is available at lerudschuldt.com
