Allan Joseph Kunze, age 62, of Valley City, ND, died Wednesday, November 7th at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 14th at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 13th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the Church on Wednesday morning. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery near Dazey, ND.
Allan was the son of Herman and Luella(Stroh) Kunze. He was born May 25, 1956 in Valley City. He attended Grafton State School. He moved to a group home in Grand Forks, ND, then to Fargo, ND and then the Open Door Center in Valley City. He enjoyed going to camp, listening to music, attending church services, going home for Sunday dinner. One of his greatest joys was playing little tricks on his family and staff members. He brought the gifts of joy and compassion to his family. In 2016, he moved to the Sheyenne Care Center where he loved the Staff and residents.
Allan is survived by his brother Robert(Linda) Kunze Grand Forks, ND, sisters Karen (Allen) Lien Fort Morgan, CO, Christine (Robert) Westerhausen Valley City, ND and several nieces and nephews.
Allan was proceeded in death by his parents Herman and Luella, grandparents Joseph (Paula) Kunze and George (Christina) Stroh.
