VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Hundreds of cattle were showcased during the 19th Annual North Star Classic in Valley City.

North Dakota Winter Show Manager Kelcey Hoffmann said this years Livestock Honoree is NDSU Swine Unit Manager Ron Zimprich. He’s been recognized for his dedication to the North Star Classic and to the agriculture industry for more than five decades.

Zimprich grew up in Cooperstown. He said it was an honor to be selected as the Livestock Honoree.

He said he and his family are long time supporters of livestock judging during the annual North Star Classic and North Dakota Winter Show.

Hoffmann said hundreds of cattle from several states were showcased during the North Star Classic in Valley City held November 28 thru December 2.

Shawn Vachal was a $2,500 winner during the North Star Classic Cattlemen’s Ball and Auction. Five others were $500 winners drawn during the event on November 30.

And congratulations to Cal Schafer who was the winner of $400 during the North Star Classic Dinner Show’s 50/50 raffle on November 29.
