VELVA, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) In both teams first contest of the year, Junior Emma Passa scored 33 points, including three 3-pointers to help the Aggies beat the Carrington Cardinals 78-64 in Class B girls hoops.

The Aggies led by 21 points at the half, the Cardinals would cut the lead to nine in the fourth quarter but couldn’t get over the hump. Junior Kaitlyn Lund added 14 for Velva and Senior Rachel Mack had 10. The Cardinals were led by Senior McKenzie Johnson with 21 points, including four 3-pointers, Hannah Hagel added 16 and Addison Hoornaert had 10.

Next up for Carrington will be the 2018-19 Girls Stutsman County Basketball Tourney in Jamestown, December 6th-8th.
