LISBON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- In their annual non conference doubleheader, Valley City come away with a sweep of Lisbon. The boys won 57-41 and The girls 58-38.

The Hi-Liner girls move to 2-0 on the young season and the boys 1-1. The Bronco girls fall to 0-3 while the boys start the year 0-1. Both Valley City teams play West Fargo Sheyenne Tuesday.

BBB: Valley City 57 vs. Lisbon 41

The Broncos scored first and held a slim lead early but once The Hi-Liners pulled in front they wouldn’t trail the rest of the game. They were up 26-17 at the end of the second quarter and pulled away in the 3rd when they held Lisbon to just 6 points.

Jarred Eggermont paced Valley City with 15 points, Sam Beierle and Avery Bennefeld scored 11 each. Wyatt Runck had 12 to lead Lisbon, Kolby Rasmusson scored 10.

GBB: Valley City 58 vs. Lisbon 38

The first quarter was back and forth until The Hi-Liners broke a 13-13 tie with a 7-2 run to go up 20-15. Like the boys, The Valley City girls had a big 3rd quarter outscoring The Broncos 17-7.

For the second game in a row Taryn Dieterle was The Hi-Liners’ top scorer with 17 points. Lindsey Noeske added 11 points and Jadyn Dieterle 10. Ellie Rieger had 10 points to led Lisbon. Kendra Anderson and Jamie Reinke both chipped in 8.
