JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown High School Boys Swimming and Diving opened their season at the Fargo Davies Free Pentathlon on Saturday, December 8th in Fargo. The Blue Jays swam to 3rd place overall, beating Fargo Sheyenne, Wahpeton, Fargo Davies and Grand Forks. Fargo North and West Fargo took first and second place respectively. Over 140 athletes competed at the event.

Individuals placing in the top 12 in each event for the Blue Jays were:

500 Free: 7th Cole Rasmusson, 10th Noah Haglund

50 Free: 9th Andy Pfeiffer, 12th Noah Haglund

200 Free: 9th Noah Haglund

100 Free: 9th Noah Haglund

The fastest 200 Free relay for the Blue Jays took 5th place (Pfeiffer, Haglund, Jacob Anteau, Rasmusson).

To be considered for overall placing, athletes were required to swim the 500 Free, 50 Free, 200 Free and 100 Free and could also swim in the 200 Free Relay to close out the meet. In overall placing through four events, Noah Haglund garnered 30 points for the team, taking 10th place and Cole Rasmusson received 15 points for 12th place.

In diving, the Blue Jays took the top three places:

1st Gage Poland, 2nd Cameron Winstead and 3rd Jaron Coombs.

This week, the Blue Jays Swimming and Diving Team will see the West Fargo Packers at home on December 13, followed by the Fargo North Spartan Pentathlon on December 15. Scoring for the Spartan Pentathlon will be combined with the Davies Pentathlon to have overall top 12 for all eight events.
