JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Imagination Library was introduced to the Jamestown region almost six years ago.

In that time, over 500 kids have become enrolled to receive books through the program. The program, created by Dolly Parton in 1995, has benefited children all over the world. Bob Toso is the local contact for Imagination Library.

The entire goal of the program is to increase literacy and encourage reading with the parents and children.

Toso says the non-profit relies heavily on donations. He says one of their biggest benefactors is the local United Way chapter.

In total, the program has over 1,349,839 kids registered and has mailed more than 112 million books. There are over 24,000 children enrolled in the program in North Dakota.

For more information on the free program or to register your child, contact Bob Toso at 701-252-5027 or email robert.b.toso@k12.nd.us.
