SIOUX CITY, I.A. (JimmieAthletics.com) – The 20th-ranked University of Jamestown women’s basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter against No. 8 Morningside College, but it was too little, too late as the Mustangs came away with a 69-60 win Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
*The Mustangs opened up a 20-13 lead after the first quarter on 9 of 16 shooting.
*Jamestown struggled from the field in the second quarter, making just three shots (all three-pointers) on 14 attempts. Morningside extended their lead to 41-28 at the break.
*Both teams turned the ball over five times in the third quarter, but the Jimmies cold shooting continued, hitting just 25 percent of their shots.
*UJ outscored Morningside 21-12 in the final frame and was able to cut the deficit into single digits midway through the quarter, but ran out of time.

FOR UJ
*Noelle Josephson (FR/Ramsey, MN) posted a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Jimmies.
*Paige Schmidt (JR/Tappen, ND) added 13 points and three steals. Jory Mullen (SR/Pierre, SD) was also in double figures with 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
*The Jimmies outrebounded the Mustangs 42-32, including 15-6 on the offensive glass.
*UJ recorded eight steals and turned the ball over 19 times.

FOR MORNINGSIDE
*Sydney Hupp led a balanced scoring effort with 15 points. Sierra Mitchell added 14 points.
*Skyler Snider came off the bench to add nine points. Taylor Rodenburgh had eight points and eight rebounds while Jordyn Moser finished with seven points, seven assists, and four steals.
*Eleven of the 12 Mustangs that appeared in the game scored at least two points.
*Morningside had 13 turnovers and nine steals.

*Jamestown travels to Aberdeen, S.D., Monday for a non-conference matchup against Presentation College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
