CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Mustangs scored the first six points of the game, but the Cardinals came back and outscored Midkota 31-6 in the first half for the 31-12 halftime lead, the Cardinals went on to win 75-27 in Class B District 5 Girls Basketball action. Carrington improves to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in D5 play, Midkota drops to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in D5.

Three players led the way for Carrington, Marah Schmitz, Addison Hoornaert and Cassidy Neuman each had 12 points. Kadyn Mehring and Kiera Eli added nine each. For Midkota, Tara Otto led the way with eight points.

Next up for Carrington will be Region 3 action at Pingree on Tuesday, December 18th against Medina/Pingree/Buchanan, pregame will be about 6:45pm on AM 1600 and FM 100.1 the Cardinal and newsdakota.com, tip off about 7pm. Midkota will travel to Lakota next week Thursday, December 20th.
