WISHEK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Wishek Hospital and Clinics were in lockdown for around two hours Thursday afternoon after a bomb threat, which appears to have been a nationwide incident.

The hospital provided an update through Facebook warning that they were closed due to a bomb threat at around 1:15 PM. McIntosh County Sheriff Laurie Spitzer says she was contacted by the Hospital’s CEO and made aware of the threat that they had received.

Sheriff Spitzer says everyone in the hospital went into lockdown and was evacuated. A search was then conducted to find anything suspicious.

After nothing was found, the lockdown was lifted roughly 2 hours later. Sheriff Spitzer says the hospital went back to normal operations and is up and running today as well.

Dozens of businesses and institutions in the U.S. received the same e-mail, but it’s unclear if they are connected.

Tioga Medical Center and Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center in Elgin posted to their Facebook page reported a bomb threat as well.
