VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The 102nd Annual Barnes County Boys basketball tournament continued Thursday at W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse on the Valley City State University campus.

#5 Maple Valley 66 #8 Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page 36

The Raiders hit five three pointers in the first half and shot 53 percent jumping out to a 43-18 lead cruising to the 30 point win.

Grady Karges had 19 of his game high 26 points in the first quarter. Carson Hovelson had 15 points three assists and five steals. Jacob Johnson added 13 points and six assists and Connor Drogen chipped ion 11 rebounds. As a team, the Raiders had 16 assists in 27 field goals.

Blake Jacobsen came off the bench to lead the Spartans with 13 points. Owen Zerface and Colby Dows had eight points each. And Tate Zerface added nine rebounds.

#6 Barnes County North 55 #7 Sargent Central 36

The Bison used a 12-0 run in the third quarter to pull away from Sargent Central. Tristin Roaldson led the Biso with 16 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Colby Bruner just missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Tucker Brown added 10 points.

Jayden Hajek led the Cadets with 12 points. Dillon Schreiner had nine.

#1 Enderlin 66  #4 Griggs County Central 54

Strong rebounding and great shooting helped The Cougars take an early lead against The Eagles. They shoot 75% and hit 5 3s in the opening quarter to lead 17-13. Chance Bye poured in 10 points in the second quarter to help put Enderlin in front 32-28 at halftime.

The Eagles would keep their lead into the 4th up 48-40. They pushed their lead into double figures and when it looked they would begin to run away with the game, GCC made one final push and got within 3 point at 54-51.  Late free throws aided Enderlin in the closing minutes and they were able to hang on for the win.

Three from Enderlin were in double figures, Joe Hurlburt led the way with 21 points. Chance Bye had 16 and Gus Hurlburt a double double of 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Hunter Gronneberg led The Cougars with 15 points. Tanner Haugen 12 and Isaac Smith 11.

#2 LaMoure/Litchville-Marion 68 #3 Milnor/North Sargent 49

It was slow start for both teams but the tide shifted for The Loboes when Jamison Kramer hit back to back 3 in the first quarter. LLM went in front and led 32-22 at halftime, they would not trail the rest of the night. The Bulldogs offense kept pace in the second half but couldn’t make stops to help them pull in front.

Kramer ended the night with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Shay Ness had 15 points and Alex Klever 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Ben Waswick had 13 for MNS and Reed Nelson 11.
