VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Hi-Liners hit 2 big offensive ruts that they couldn’t overcome in a 73-55 loss to Kindred.

In the first half, Valley City managed come back and tie the game at 10. The Vikings scored the next 7 and outscore The Hi-Liners 23-12 to close out the half. After trading points in the opening minutes of the second half, Kindred again pulled away with a run.

Mitchel Taylor ended the night with 12 points to lead Valley City.Peyton Zaun added 11 and Drew Zaun 10.

Andrew Frier paced Kindred with 13 points. Gavin Keller had 11 and Dawson Schaffer and Michael Hall 10 each. The Vikings as a team went 18 for 23 from the free throw line.

Kindred is now 7-1 on the year, they return to Region I play Tuesday at Lisbon. Valley City is 2-9, Tuesday they play Grand Forks Red River as part of an EDC doubleheader. The girls play at 5:45 and the boys at 7:30. Both games can be heard on KOVC 1490AM/96.3 FM with video stream at NewsDakota.com
