JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission received the 2018 General Election Expense report during Tuesday night’s meeting.

Chief Deputy Auditor/Recorder Jessica Alonge reported that the cost per vote ended up being $2.72 with 9,819 ballots counted.

Alonge says in 2014, it was $2.92 per vote. She says it’s been about the same cost for each few general elections in Stutsman County.

Later, Director of Tax Equalization/Zoning Administrator Tyler Perleberg reports that with dispensary applications for medicinal marijuana being accepted in the area soon, there has yet to be any calls put into the county.

Finally, a request to vacate the section line in St. Paul and Peterson Townships was discussed. A landowner in the area had made the request to close the section line in 2018.

Landowner Dennis Beam agreed with closing the line after it was shared that there had been numerous issues in that area regarding projects.

The commission unanimously approved.
