VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With Phase I of the Hanna Field Athletic Project completed and the fundraising goal completed, school officials will start to focus on the second phase.

Valley City School Superintendent Josh Johnson said there are a lot of questions about Phase II so the community is being invited to attend a Restoring the Legacy fundraising committee meeting on January 23.

He said the estimated cost of Phase II is $3 million dollars. He said 100 percent of the funds will have to come from donations, sponsorships and fundraising efforts.

Once again a public presentation will be Wednesday January 23rd at 10am. If you can’t attend that meeting another will be held at 7pm in the Hi Liner Activity Center.

Johnson said in the first phase, the contractor constructed a track, athletic storage and built a water drainage pond. He said the fundraising committee met their goal by raising $515,000 in 2018. Johnson said the new athletic complex will hold five track meets for the 2019 season beginning with the first one on April 9th.
