VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Red River came out on the winning end of a pair of EDC 2 point games Tuesday night at The HAC. In dominant fashion The Roughriders won the girls’ contest 75-50 and the boys’ game 81-38.

Valley City will look to rebound Friday at doubleheader in Wahpeton.

 

GBB: GF Red River 75 vs. Valley City 50 

Red River never trailed with 4 of their 5 starters scoring in double figures. Kenady Steffan had 21 points, Jadyn Sondrol 14, Shelby Frank 12 and Alex Page 10.

The Hi-Liners saw a big second half from Taryn Dieterle. She scored 21 points over the final 18 minutes to end with a game high 27.

VCHS drops to 6-6 overall and 5-6 in The EDC.

 

BBB: GF Red River 81 vs. Valley City 38 

The Roughriders jumped to an early and pulled ahead by 11. Valley City got within 7 points at 29-22, Red River responded with a 10 point run. They held the lead 41-25 at halftime. In the second half they held The Hi-Liners to 14 points.

Peyton Zaun was Valley City’s top scorer with 16. Jared Eggermont added 6 points and 5 rebounds.

Brady Dvorak led both teams with 19 points. Bryce Enerson had 16 and 7 rebounds.

Valley City falls to 1-9 in the region.
