Harvey Raymond Jensen was born October 26, 1925 in Paulson Siding, ND, the son of Signus and Hulda (Winther) Jensen. He attended schools in Northgate, Crosby and Berthold, ND where he graduated from high school in 1943. He was employed by the Great Northern Railway until he became 18 and then he volunteered for induction into the Army. Harvey served with the 87th Infantry Division in Patton’s 3rd Army in the European Theatre of Operation from Luxemburg to the Czech border until the end of the war in Europe.

He was awarded the Infantryman’s Combat Badge, The Presidential Distinguished Unit Citation, the Bronze Star, the European Theatre of Operations Medal with three Battle Stars for Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the Victory Medal.

Harvey married Lillian Gee, August 17, 1945 in Berthold, ND. He attended the University of North Dakota and graduated in 1950 with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering. He was Vice President of Moline Construction, Inc. in Jamestown for 32 years.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as President of the Church Council and was a member of various committees. Harvey also served on several boards and committees in Jamestown including: Chamber of Commerce, Salvation Army, Highland Home Cemetery, Stutsman County Weed Board, Circle Cross Saddle Club, Buffalo Days Rodeo and Fort Seward Wagon Train. He enjoyed horses, trail riding and pony chariot racing.

After retiring, he enjoyed attending auction sales and buying and restoring old furniture and other antique items. When the basement got full he would have an auction sale and start over.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Lillian Jensen, Jamestown; children, Lynn Jensen, Jamestown, Paul (Sue) Jensen, Jamestown, Susan McPherson, Jamestown, and Barbara (Dave) Bulgart, Village of Lakewood, IL; grandchildren, Dustin (Mary) Jensen, Jamestown, Matt (McKenzie) McPherson, Bismarck, Arielle (Brian Brand) McPherson, Mesa, AZ, Allison Bulgart, Boston, MA, and Hannah Bulgart, Columbus, OH; great-grandchildren, Brynn & Sophie Jensen, Jamestown and Jenner McPherson, Bismarck; sister, Carol Holtz, Wheaton, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and one grandson, Casey Jensen.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown.

Visitation: 1:00 p.m., to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Interment: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
