JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown is sponsoring a free Community Ice Skate Event on Saturday, January 26th on the outdoor hockey rink.

The hockey rink built for the Hockey Day North Dakota event will be used for individuals in the community and surrounding region as well as students to enjoy some ice time for free. Tena Lawrence, Sr. Vice President for Public Relations and Marketing, says they are excited to get to use the specially built rink on campus.

Lawrence says the University is sponsoring the free event on Allen Field in the middle of the campus. She says the day will be a great chance for members of the community to get involved at the University.

Lawrence says the passes will allow attendees to take in other events at the University including the basketball games and hockey game later that evening for free. Media Specialist Josh Knutson says they just want the community to get involved with all things happening on the campus.

The free skate will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM. All participants will need to bring their own skates.
