JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Dickinson scored two goals 1:21 apart midway through the first period and Baylee Kram made it stand up with her fourth shut out of the season as Dickinson clinched a berth into the state girls hockey tournament with a 3-0 win over Jamestown Friday night at John L. Wilson Arena
Kennedy Kuntz scored 22 seconds into a power play at the 5:02 mark of the opening period to start the scoring. Taia Klamen scored her 27th goal of the season, tops in the state, at the 6:23 mark of the period to make it 2-0
Kamryn Kuntz would add a short-handed goal 1:18 into the second period to make it 3-0.
Baylee Kram stopped all 18 shots for the Midgets who killed off 11 power plays in the game.
With the win, Dickinson is 11-8 overall and 8-6 in the state standings, good enough for sixth. They can finish no worse than seventh so they will reach the state tournament for a fifth time and second year in a row.
Jamestown falls to 7-13-1 overall and 5-11 on the West Region. They need to beat Devils Lake on Tuesday in the season finale to reach the state tournament for the first time since 2013.
