BISMARCK, N.D.  (NewsDakota.com) – It was senior day so it was only fitting that the seniors led Bismarck High to a 7-1 win over Jamestown in the regular season finale for both teams.
Senior wing Dain Sardelli had two goals and three assists for the Demons. Senior winger Chase Fuhrman had two goals and senior winger Landon Fischer had a goal and an assist for Bismarck. And senior center Caleb Petrie had two goals and two assists. Petrie’s two goals came 52 seconds apart in the third period.
Corey Nelson scored a power play goal midway throw the final period to avoid the shutout. It was his 12th of the season.
Riley Gerhardt made 70 saves for the Blue Jays.
With the win, Bismarck improves to 16-3-1 overall and 12-0-1 in the West Region and will be the top seed at the West Region Tournament next week in Minot. Jamestown falls to 7-6-1 in the west and 7-12-1 overall. They will be the fourth seed and will face Dickinson in the opening round of the West Regional. It will be the third year in a row the two teams meet in the opening round of the regional tournament.
