FORT TOTTEN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Day two of the 2019 Class B Girls basketball tournament was held on Saturday, February 9th at Four Winds High School. The number one and two seeds both advance to the championship on Monday night and also qualify for the Region 4 tourney in Devils Lake starting February 18th. Here are the day two results:
#7 Warwick 58  #6 Lakota 45 (elimination game)
#1 Four Winds/Minnewaukan (No. 9 in state) 75  #4 New Rockford/Sheyenne 53 (semifinal)
The Rockets led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter, FWM would take a three point lead at halftime 36-30. Junior Riah Littleghost scored 10 of her total 29 points in the third quarter as the Indians had the 60-43 lead at the end of three quarters of play. Littleghost ended with five 3-pointers as well to help the Lady Indians beat the Rockets of New Rockford/Sheyenne in the first semifinal on Saturday night. Myona Dauphinais added 11 points, Latasha Bellile had 10 points and eight assists, Hailey Keo added 10. FWM was 30 of 76 from the field for 39%, they attempted 35 treys and made 11 of them for 31%. NR-S was led by Sophomore Dani Bjerke with 18 points including two 3-pointers. Hannah Haley had 14 points and Allison Dockter added 12 points.
#2 Harvey/Wells County 40 # 3 Benson County 35 (semifinal)
Benson County took the lead 33-32 with about seven minutes to play in the fourth quarter, but scored only two points in the last seven minutes and suffered a semifinal loss to the Hornets in the last game Saturday night. BC was led by Freshman Quinn Neppl with 15 points including three 3-pointers. Katlyn Bingham added 12 and nine rebounds. HWC was led by Jaye Fike with 17 points, three 3-pointers. Kalyn Keller added 13. Center McKayla Jones had six points and 14 rebounds. The Hornets are the two-time defending D7 champs and will go for their third straight title Monday night in a rematch of last years title game against FWM, the Hornets beat Warwick the previous year.

530pm – Benson County vs. Dakota Prairie (Region 4 qualifier)
7pm – Four Winds/Minnewaukan vs. Harvey/ Wells County (championship)
