JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Area farmers gathered in Jamestown on Monday, February 11th to learn about the latest inputs for 2019.
Monty’s Plant & Soil Products hosted the event at the Quality Inn & Suites in Jamestown. Joe Koll is the Territory Manager for North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. He’s responsible for consulting growers on Monty’s plant and soil products as well as gathering yield data and educating growers on humic substances and the importance of soil health.
“[We] gave information to farmers on inputs for 2019, new products from Monty’s Plant Food and also got a weather outlook from Mick Kjar,” Koll stated. “Midwest Labs was also in attendance for soil sample questions.”
Kjar gave the forecast for 2019 and says we can expect a cold snowy February with a warmup come April.
“Cold & snowy rest of February. A couple of strong March snows but less cold. Then, a warmup and dry mid to late April. Cool & showery early May and then warm and dry to wrap up the month,” Kjar reported.
