GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City opened the game with a quick bucket only to see Grand Forks Central score 16 straight to power past The Hi-Liners 79-52 in  EDC boys basketball.
Shooting troubles plagued Valley City, they were 33% from the field and 3 for 26 on 3 pointers. The Knights had a season best game from Mason Gravseth, the sophomore scored 20 in the opening half and finished with 22.
Sam Beierle led The Hi-Liners with 16 points. Peyton Zaun, Derrek Diegel and Jared Eggermont had 9 each.
Chris Demuth from Central was the game’s high scorer with 23 points.
Valley City falls to 1-16 in the EDC, Friday they host Fargo South.
