LISBON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Foul troubled plagued the Tornadoes Tuesday night as they dropped 53-39 at the hands of the Lisbon Broncos.
Two of their five starters were in big foul trouble tonight. Both Alex Muggli and Drew Dethlefsen had 3 fouls in the first half and picked up number four in the 3rd quarter. Dethlefsen would end up fouling out with only 4 points.
For the second straight game the 2nd quarter doomed Oakes. The Tornadoes offense could only put together 5 points while Lisbon put together an 18 point quarter to take a 10 point lead into the break.
With the foul trouble and the lack of offense, Oakes never put together a serious run in the 2nd half.
Steele Hansen was the Tornadoes leading scorer with 12 points.
Lisbon was led by their leading scorer Wyatt Runck as he finished with 22 points. More importantly, Runck recorded his 1,000th career point in the 2nd quarter.
Next time out for Oakes will be this Thursday at Linton.
