JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department was dispatched to Southwest Jamestown Sunday afternoon to a fire inside a building.

Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther says the original call to 1001 17th St. SW was for a building on fire at approximately 4:30 PM.

Reuther says after investigation, the probable cause has been targeted to a vehicle fire inside the building. There were 25 firefighters with six units on scene.Jamestown Police & Jamestown Area Ambulance were also on scene to provide support.

Chief Reuther says this is the first call the Jamestown Ladder truck was utilized.

Crews used the ladder truck’s thermal detection system, allowing firefighters to locate the origin of the fire to a truck inside the building.
