Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Stop in Carrington @ Carrington, ND

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is currently on its 20th annual journey through the U.S. to raise holiday cheer and food donations.

Beginning Sunday, November 25th in Montreal, the Canadian Pacific Train will make it’s trip through the U.S. and plans over 160 stops before wrapping up it’s trip in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on December 16th.

The train will stop in Carrington at 1:30 PM. Participants are asked to bring food or money donations that will stay local and help the food banks and pantries. Performers on the train include Willy Porter, The Trews, Sam Roberts Band, and Jojo Mason.

In 19 years, the train has raised more than $14.5 million and 4.3 million pounds of food all across North America.

University of Jamestown Christmas Concert @ Jamestown Basillica

The University of Jamestown’s Concert Choir presents its Christmas concert on Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15 at 7:30 pm at St. James Basilica in Jamestown. There is not a concert on Sunday this year.

Tickets for the general public are $10, and may be secured at: tickets@uj.edu or by phoning the UJ Box Office between 3 – 6 pm, Monday through Friday at 701/252-3467 extension 5435.

The University of Jamestown thanks Sanford Health for sponsoring the Friday night concert, and Unison Bank for sponsoring the Saturday night concert.

Victory Lutheran’s Community Christmas Dinner @ Victory Lutheran Church

Victory Lutheran Church, located at 510 9th Ave. SW, will host its Community Christmas Dinner Sunday, December 16th from 11:30 – 1:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

A complete turkey meal with all the trimmings will be served. Meals will also be delivered to those who are unable to attend at the church.

Please call the church office at 251-1570 before 3 p.m. on Friday, December 14th to be assured of home meal delivery Sunday.

Historic 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse Holiday Open House @ 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse

The Historic 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse will open their doors on Sunday, December 16th for their Holiday Open House.

Several area organizations have decorated a tree, which has been placed in each room of the courthouse. You can visit between 1 to 5 PM Sunday and vote on your favorite while enjoying some hot cocoa and cookies. You’re asked to bring a non-perishable food donation and are encouraged to make a donation to the courthouse.

All food donations will be given to the Community Action Region VI Food Pantry.

Please join us for our annual Tree of Love dedication. We will have a short greeting, prayer and moment of silence to reflect on the holiday season and the ones we love.

Everyone is welcome. The event is free and open to the public. A small snack and beverages will be supplied.
