Bridges Backpack serves food insecure children in Head Start, VCPS, BCN, Litchville/Marion and is expanding to the Valley City Junior High.
The Barnes ON THE MOVE Partnership will be serving free samples of Sizzling Fresh Veggie Medley at the Farmers Market on Thursday, August 24 from 4-6 pm at the Shopko Parking Lot. Dr. James Buhr, Sanford physician, will be the guest chef doing the grilling. Everyone is invited to come and taste the free samples of veggies.
Hockenberry Park in Oakes is hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market this summer.
The market will be open from 4-7 each Thursday throughout the summer.
Items being sold include produce, pickles and jellies.

Come join Jamestown’s newest motorcycle club, the Ironhorse Rebels, in supporting our local Salvation Army. On Saturday, August 26, 2017 they are hosting their 1st Annual Ironhorse Rebels MC/Salvation Army Fun Run. Registration begins at 10:00 AM at Stutsman Harley-Davidson with kickstands up at 11:30 AM. $20/bike and $10/passenger with 100% of the proceeds staying local.

August 27th from 3 to 7 at the Atonement Lutheran Church, 1009 12th Ave NE, west of the High School. Enjoy music from Bernie and the Other Guys, Old Friends, Intrique and Buffalo Road. Please bring a non perishable food item to help stock the shelves at the community action food pantry. A free will offering will also be collected that day benefiting the James River Senior Center and Community Action Backpack Program.
The Litchville Museum burger and brat feed is coming up August 27. The feed also includes the raffle of a beautiful quilt made by Lorna Olson, wood toys and a custom wooden toy box made by Dennis Olson, and walking sticks from Jerry Nelson.
The event will be held August 27, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Community Center in Litchville. Tickets are $5.
Remember Litchville Museum memberships are being accepted for $5 a year or $50 for a lifetime.
