Barnes County Mowing & Bale Removal

The mowing of all weeds and grasses in the right of ways on all county and township roads, must be completed by October 14, 2018. The county highway department will begin mowing on Monday, October 15, 2018. Any area not cut to specifications will be cut and the actual cost of the mowing will be placed on the taxes levied against the land for the next year.

All bales on the county and township roads right-of-way must be removed by October 14, 2018. Remaining bales will be cleared and the actual cost of the removal will be placed on the taxes levied against the land for the next year.

Healthy Cents Class in Jamestown @ James River Senior Center

In these FREE classes, you can learn about stretching your food dollars and eating healthy on a budget. Participate in hands-on activities, receive healthy recipes, and taste-test delicious recipe samples!

Classes will be held on the fourth Wednesday of each month through September from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM at the James River Senior Center (421 5th St. NE in Jamestown).

JRMC Cancer Center Journey to Mile 256: A Private Debut @ Jamestown Regional Medical Center

When Jamestown Regional Medical Center built its new location in southwest Jamestown, it dreamed of the day that cancer treatment would be available in Jamestown.

To make that dream a reality, the JRMC Foundation is hosting two cancer center events in September.

The JRMC Cancer Center Journey to Mile 256: a Private Debut is set for Thursday, Sept. 27 at the JRMC Cancer Center shell space at JRMC.

The event is a formal gala including meal, entertainment and live auction.

Tickets are $50-$100. Seating is limited to 200 individuals.

Jamestown Area Recovery Month Event @ McElroy Park

September is National Recovery Month sponsored by SAMSHA – Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration. Please come help increase awareness of the power of recovery in addiction and mental health. This is an annual event put on by community members. There will be door prizes, free food, music and a bouncy house for the kiddo’s

In case of inclement weather, event will be held at the Buffalo Mall

Magician & Entertainer Lion Fludd @ Jamestown Arts Center

Arealeius “Lion” Fludd is a very “groovy” charismatic performer who specializes in theatrical mind reading and sleight of hand magic. He has amazed fans all over the globe in places such as Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He is notable for working with various celebrities in the entertainment capital of the world
Las Vegas, NV.

Lion has appeared on several network-affiliated television programs, he has performed in many Las Vegas casinos, and various venues across the country. This includes half-time shows at the University of Louisville basketball game, major theaters in Chicago, IL, Theatre on the Square in Indianapolis, IN.

Lion served in the United States Marine Corps. During his service, he made special performances for our fellow service men and women.

In addition to performing as a strolling and stage entertainer, Lion has taken his skills into the world of acting. He has appeared as an extra in two major films that have hit the big screen.

Join us for this unique and entertaining evening… and be prepared to be amazed.

Art Exhibit JFAA Annual Show @ Jamestown Arts Center

We kick off the Fall season with the community’s favorite arts show. We are anticipating the 54th Annual will include lots of new artists and lots of artwork. The exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to purchase that one-of-a-kind gift or addition to your existing art collection. Everything from ceramics and painting, to photography and glasswork, this exhibition offers inspiration to visitors and artists alike.

Brunch Out Cancer, a JRMC Cancer Center open house, is set for Sunday, Sept. 30. The event is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes light brunch and small tours.

Stutsman County Wildlife Federation Youth Pheasant Hunt
Sep 30 @ 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

The Stutsman County Wildlife Federation is hosting its annual mentored-youth pheasant hunt on 09/30/18.

Youth participants do not need experience, but must have a valid hunting license, appropriate clothing and equipment, and must have an adult present. Shells will be provided.

The afternoon will include a safety discussion and we will be cleaning any harvested birds together. A late lunch will be served after the hunt.

There is no cost to participate, but we encourage parents and families to join the club as members. The best way to support the club as a member is to join us at our annual banquet on 10/05/18. Prime rib will be served, and tickets are $30 for individual, $45 for a couple. Membership is included in the ticket cost.

Youth participants will be capped at 12. To sign up, send a message to the Facebook Page.

Picklepalooza Event in Kulm @ Kulm City Park

Picklepalooza is a fun fun fundraiser for Kulm recreational projects! This year we are raising money for new tiling for our outdoor sports court.

It’s a festival for all things pickled, so be prepared to enjoy pickled treats and pickle events like:

Pickle Potluck and Tasting Table
