on a .4 million runway reconstruction project in Valley City is set to begin later this month.

The plan calls for the reconstruction of the main runway pavement section, a new runway lighting system, improvements to the east and west taxiways and turnaround area.The project is funded by grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission. The local share is about $60,000 dollars.

The Barnes County airport has nearly 30 based aircraft stored in the hanger and other privately owned aircraft on the airport grounds.
