N.D.(NewsDakota.com)…For the second night in a row, Jamestown had a rough time on the baseball field, and dropped a couple of one sided legion baseball games. Wednesday night in the capitol city, Post 14 was swept 12-0 and 8-2.

Jamestown was outhit 15-2 in the first game, with Danny Fischer taking the loss, and the Governors outhit Jamestown 12-5, with Kasey Gengler suffering the loss. Ben Walz and Fischer each had RBI doubles.

Post 14 slips to 7-16-1, and will now turn its attention to the annual Jamestown Legion Tourney at Jack Brown Stadium. This three day event will begin on Friday with a couple of opening round games. At 5:30 p.m., Devils Lake hooks up with Fargo, and at 8:00 p.m., Jamestown will battle Coon Rapids.

Saturday, four games will be played, starting at 10:30 a.m. with Coon Rapids playings Devils Lake, followed by Fargo and Coon Rapids at 1:00 p.m.. The tourney will take a break around 2:30 p.m on Saturday for a home run derby, and skills competition.

Action will continue at 4:30 p.m. with Devils Lake playing Jamestown, and day two will wrap up at 7:00 p.m. with Fargo rumbling with Jamestown. Sunday, the final round will feature two games, with the third place game at 10:00 a.m., and the title game at 12:30 p.m..

Following the championship game, Jamestown Elks and Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants will finish their title game that was halted by rain last  Sunday in the annual Dale Lein Memorial Amateur Tourney at Jack Brown Stadium.

The Elks held a 1-0 lead in the third when the storms struck, so this game will pick up where it left off, around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
