N.D. (NewsDakota.com) We’ve seen summer storms, and now it’s time for summer heat.

The National Weather Service says this weekend, and early next week will be quite warm, as they have issued an Excessive Heat Watch that goes into effect Saturday afternoon, and stays around until Tuesday afternoon.

The Weather Service says daytime air temperatures will reach in the 90’s, and may hit the 100 degree mark. Coupled with high humidity, heat index values will range from 100 to 110 degrees.

If you plan on spending a good amount of time outside the next few days, make sure to drink plenty of fluids that will keep you hydrated such as water and sports drinks, as opposed to alcohol and caffeinated drinks, as those types of beverages can make you dehydrate faster.  Also, take frequent breaks, and make sure to check up on children and the elderly as well as your pets.
