CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–Valley City’s Babe Ruth baseball team ended it’s regular season on a high note yesterday, knocking off Edgeley in a double-header 10-1 and 18-8, with both games counting in league play.

Austen Meyer threw a complete game three-hitter in the opener, striking out nine and walking just two.  He allowed just one earned run.

Ben Baasch had a pair of hits, with seven other players registering a hit.  Jesse Hochstetler had a double, and Jared Lentz added a triple.  Valley City stole eight bases.

Jared Lentz picked up the win in the second game with four innings of work.  Baasch had three more hits, scoring twice and driving in two runs.  Hochstetler drove in three runs and threw the final two innings.

Valley City ends league play at 11-5.  They face Jamestown in non-league action Tuesday in Jamestown, then start their divisional tournament Sunday, July 24th.
