N.D.(NewsDakota.com)…Thanks to the weather, it took a week to determine who would win the annual Dale Lien Memorial Amateur Baseball Tournament at Jack Brown Stadium.

It boiled down to Jamestown Elks Versus Jamestown Merchants on Sunday, July 9th, but the game was interupted by storms with the Elks on top 1-0 in the third inning. A week later, The two teams were able to resume the game on Sunday, July 17th, and luck would have it the storms got in the way again,.

The Merchants had rallied to take a 5-1 lead, when bad weather moved in. The game was halted after five innings, and ruled a final. Josh Shaw picked up the win, as the Merchants bump their record to 11-6.

The Merchants snapped a 1-1 tie with four runs in the fourth. John Ness and Kevin Gall had RBI singles, and Bryan Erstad doubled.

Next up for the Merchants is Mayville at 7:00p.m. on Wednesday in Fargo
