City, N.D. –3 government agencies say they need more observation points to measure moisture depth and content to produce a better flood forecast.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Mark Frazier says following two historic floods along the Sheyenne River and the Red River this decade they’ll be advertising for more people to help make observation year round in the two river basins.

Officials from the U-S Geological Survey, U-S Army Corps of Engineers and the National Weather Service addressed presented their plan on how to get better real time information before and during a flooding event to Valley City officials this week.
