CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–After a golf invitational that was to start the 2011 fall Hi-Liner sports season was pushed back, the season will have three sports getting their start today.

Hi-Liner girls golf, boys tennis, and cross-country all get their competitive starts today, with golf and tennis already in Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) competition.

Girls golf attends a full EDC meet in Grand Forks today at Grand Forks Country Club.  It’s the start of a long weekend of golf for the Hi-Liners.  They continue with an East-West crossover tomorrow at Crossroads Golf Course in Carrington.

The crossover was to be Monday and Tuesday in Jamestown, but was moved due to unplayable conditions at Jamestown Country Club.  The event was then postponed due to wet conditions in Carrington, and eventually reduced to one day.

The Hi-Liner boys tennis team plays at Grand Forks Central at Riverside Courts in their opening action of the year.  Today begins a race to get an entire season finished in six weeks, with the EDC regional scheduled for September 22nd.

Cross-country competes at a Jamestown Invitational, which will be held at McElroy Park, moved from Hillcrest Golf Course.

Hi-Liner football and volleyball both open next week.
