CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–After wiping out Waldorf in the season opener, the VCSU Viking volleyball team found much tougher sledding in Iowa this weekend.

The Vikings were swept in three matches and dropped all four this past weekend, losing to Northwestern, IA, Morningside, IA, and Doane, NE 3-0, and dropping a 3-2 match with Concordia, MI in a meet at Northwestern College in Orange City, IA.

Jill Noeske (Jr., Valley City, ND) led the Vikings in kills in three of the matches, and co-led the team in the fourth.  Mardee Lander (Sr., Rouleau, SK) had 18 digs as a highlight in the Concordia, MI match.

The meet ended with the thud against Doane, however, when the Vikings managed just 15 total kills in the match.

The Vikings will meet four opponents at a meet at Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, SD this weekend.
