N.D.- The outside of the First State Bank Of North Dakota-Oakes branch suffered damage as a result of a freak accident on Sunday morning.

Oakes Police Chief Marke Roberts says that Oakes resident Dean Schmit was entering Farmland Ampride, across the street from the bank, on Sunday morning around 6:15 to get a cup of coffee. While inside, Schmit’s unattended vehicle backed up out of the Ampride lot, went across Main Avenue, and ran into the front of the bank.

No one was injured in the accident.
