N.D. (AP) – Members of Congress from both sides of the
Red River of eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota are
asking the president to include $30 million in his next budget for
a river diversion project in the Fargo-Moorhead area. The request
would set aside money for planning, engineering and design work on
the project to provide long-term flood protection for the
metropolitan area.
     
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota flood victims have another
two months to register for federal disaster assistance. Today’s
deadline was extended to November 21st for people who need help
from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Small
Business Administration.
     
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – Grand Forks officials hope to beat
their own record for the world’s largest French fry feed today. The
annual event comes during Potato Bowl week. Grand Forks set a
record in 2008, when 4,890 pounds of fries were served.
     
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota State will travel to Iowa to
open the 2016 season. The school is guaranteed $500,000 for the
Hawkeyes game.
