City, N.D. – Drier weather has been a blessing for contractors and country road workers trying to repair washed out roads in Barnes County.

Highway Roads Superintendent Kerry Johnson says one road remains closed to Sanborn and crews hope to re-open it in a few weeks.

Johnson says the flood of 2009 and 2011 damaged a bridge deck a mile north of Kathryn. He says crews have repaired that surface as well.

Drier weather and an outlet northeast of Sanborn have help lower area lakes and slews by two feet or more over the last few weeks.
