City, N.D. – Hundreds of Valley City and St. Cathrine students and parents walked to school on Wednesday during the International Walk to School Day.

Barnes County On the Move coordinator Mary Lee Nielson says the show of support and the participation in the event was fantastic on Wednesday.

She says she hopes more students will see the benefits of walking to school more often in the years to come.

The event is held annually to promote and improve children’s health and safety as well as the parents.
