N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol says
three people died after two vans crashed head-on near Fessenden.
    

Troopers say a van driven by a 54-year-old Maple Plain, Minn.,
man attempted to pass a semitrailer on State Highway 52 early
Sunday night and struck another van head-on. Troopers say rain
appeared to have obstructed his vision. He died at the scene, about 11 miles south of Fessenden.
    

The patrol says a two people from Jamestown were in the southbound van. The 74-year-old male driver was killed at the scene and a 79-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at a Fargo hospital.
    

Names of the victims were not released pending notification of relatives.
