N.D.- After what has seemed to be a long and enduring construction season, North Dakota Highway 1 through the heart of Oakes was allowed to accept traffic on Monday.

The north-south highway had been closed since June to work on implementing new storm and sewer lines, in addition to re-pavement of the heavily traveled road.

There are still some touch-ups to be complete such as leveling of pavement, mainly at cross streets through town, especially on the south side.
