A weekend fire destroyed five buildings near Jamestown. Authorities say no one was hurt in the blaze that burned down a workshop, a vacant mobile home and three outbuildings about seven miles northwest of the city. The Jamestown Rural Fire Department reports the fire began Saturday evening, and firefighters returned twice early Sunday because of flare-ups. Rural Fire Chief Rick Woehl says the fire started in the shop when an ember blew from a nearby burn pit, and the blaze then spread to the other buildings. He says the shop was full of plywood and wooden fencing, which fueled the fire. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
