City, N.D. – A Valley City high school student’s art work was selected earlier this year by members of the North Dakota Department of Transportation to be their message on several billboards statewide.

Erika Lutjens artwork depicts the importance of no texting while driving. Officials hope the quote of, “It Can Happen To You! Don’t Text And Drive Arrive Alive” sends a message to young and old alike that texting messages while driving is not only a dangerous practice but illegal.
