N.D.- The 2011 Oakes High School volleyball season came to an abrupt stop on Thursday night, as the Tornadoes lost in the opening round of the Class B District 1 tournament to the North Sargent Bobcats in five games.

Oakes was victorious in the first two contests, winning by scores of 25-18 and 25-20, but the Bobcats won three in a row by scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 15-11 to send the Tornadoes home for the season.

North Sargent advances to play Milnor on Monday in the second round.
