(NewsDakota.com)–Jamestown College will welcome a special visitor Tuesday when Board of Trustee member and alumni Jasper Schneider will talk to students about the importance of being involved in politics and the community. 

Jasper is a guest of the Young Democrats of Jamestown College and District 12 of the Democratic-NPL Party of North Dakota.   While attending the school, he was a awarded the Young Alumni Medallion in 2007.   He wants to speak about how important it is to be politically active as a college student and also talk about his experiences as a public servant. 

In 2008, Jasper campaigned to become Insurance Commisioner.  He also worked as a lawyer and provided legal counsel to U.S. Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND), all before serving in the state legislature.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8th. It is open to the public and will take place in Level 2 of the Nafus Student Center starting at 7pm.
