City, N.D. – The Bailey and Chase families want to thank all Barnes County, Valley City and Fargo area residents who attended a benefit two years ago this coming Saturday following the tragic loss of Nick Bailey who died of an enlarged heart in September of 2009.

L to R Kara, Ashley, Kyle & Paul Bailey and grandchildren Chase & Arianna sit on the bench dedicated to their son, Nick Baily.

The loss of Nick will never be forgotten, but his parents Paul & Kara, brother Kyle, sister Ashley, grand parents Ralph and Cheryl Chase would like to thank everyone for their support over the last two years since the loss of Nick.

Nick Bailey loved to hunt pheasants in Barnes County. He passed away at the age of 16 in September of 2009.

Some of the money raised from the Valley City benefit was used to purchase a bench with an inscription of thanks to the many people who donated money during the benefit.

Nick Bailey also loved to fish and swim near the Mel Rieman Recreation Center northwest of Valley City.

The bench is placed on the deck of the Mel Rieman Recreation Center for public use overlooking Lake Ashtabula in the summer.

A special thanks to Bald Hill Dam Resource manager Rich Schueneman and Kevin & Megan Chase for all their help and efforts to make this project possible.

The remaining money from the benefit will be used to promote youth hunting in Barnes County in the future.
