The Southeast Region of the North Dakota Highway Patrol has announced they will run a saturation patrol of Stutsman, Foster and LaMoure counties this Friday and Saturday.

The Patrol says the purpose of the saturation on November 18 and 19 is to deter and detect impaired drivers, and remove them from the roadways. The Patrol says the public should make a responsible decision when they get behind the wheel and call or designate a sober driver if they’ve been drinking alcohol. Troopers will be out on days off and working overtime shifts.

So far this year, there have been 100 fatal crashes, resulting in 111 deaths statewide. 57 of those crashes were alcohol related.
