City, N.D. – Services for South Central Transit in Barnes County and the surrounding area continue to grow and a new bus garage on east main in Valley City will help the agency in the future.

South Central Adult Services Director Pat Hansen says the new $1.1 million facility has a state of the art heating and cooling system that’s second to none.

She says the lion share of the funding came from the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act. The funding was given to the North Dakota Department of Transportation. Valley City was one of six North Dakota communities to receive funding for projects like this in the state by the North Dakota Department of Transportation.

Hansen says South Central Transit Network Services recorded more than 105,000 rides last year of those more than 50,000 were for clients in Barnes County only.
