Valley rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to defeat Litchville-Marion-Montpelier 59-48 on Monday in Litchville during the season-opening night of Class B boys basketball.

Dylan Thompson scored 21 points for LMM as they jumped out to a 27-22 lead at halftime. But Maple Valley outscored LMM 24-10 in the second quarter to regain the lead.

Wade Steidl had 18 points for Maple Valley, and Ty Smith and James Richman each added 10 points.

Up next: Maple Valley (1-0) is at Central Cass on Friday for their District 2 opener. LMM (0-1) is at Lisbon on Friday.
