– The Jamestown Blue Jay girls hockey team earned its first victory of the season Saturday in Williston, blasting their way to an 8-2 road victory over the Coyotes.

Amber Schaack scored four goals and had an assist, leading a four-goal first period for Jamestown that gave them control of the game. Williston scored first to take a 1-0 lead, but Jamestown’s Mataya Olson quickly tied it up at 1-1 with a goal. Schaack added two goals in the first period and Steph Kamlitz added another to put the Blue Jays up 4-1.

They broke the game open for good with three goals in the second period for a 7-2 lead.

Olson, Steph Kamlitz, Torri Kamlitz and LaCal Olson all scored goals to go with Schaack’s four.

Jamestown (1-4) hosts Grand Forks on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. at Wilson Arena in Jamestown.
